Chapter 1664:

Corrine turned to him.

Their eyes met, and she smiled softly.

If she and Nate were the ones on stage, the moment would've been even grander.

The wedding ended at 1:30 in the afternoon.

In the Hoffman family suite, Jules held Rachel's hand as he introduced her to everyone.

Rachel greeted each family member warmly. Her hands were soon full of gifts—tokens of welcand love.

The scene was cheerful. A large family gathered, united and warm. Yet, behind her smile, Rachel felt a flicker of

sadness.

She missed her grandparents.

They hadn’t come. Maybe they were still angry with her.

And so, even on her happiest day, there was an ache in her heart.

In the changing room, Rachel's feet throbbed with every heartbeat, sore from hours in high heels. After slipping

out of her gown and into something more comfortable, she sank onto the bench and began massaging her

aching feet, sighing in relief.

Usually, she chose flats or low heels—anything that wouldn't punish her feet.

But today wasn’t just any day. It was her wedding day. And for that, she had braved four-inch heels to match the

elegance of her dress. Now, after the ceremony and the long reception, her feet felt like they were on fire. She

glanced at the diamond ring on her left hand, her lips curling into a soft smile.

After everything, her dream had finally ctrue.

Just then, a knock echoed on the door. Jules’ voice followed, warm and familiar.

“Rachel, are you in there?”

Startled, Rachel hurriedly slipped the heels back on.

“Coming,” she called out.

But before she could even stand, the door opened, and Jules walked in. Not wanting him to think she was

stalling, she quickly said,

“I'm ready to go.”

“Wait a second.” Jules gently took her hand and guided her back to the chair.

Confused, Rachel watched as he knelt on one knee before her. Then, with a casual air, he pulled a pair of flats

from a box and held them out.

“Why didn’t you say your feet were hurting?”

Her eyes flickered, and she tried to sound nonchalant.

“I'm not that fragile. It’s just... The heels were higher than I'm used to.”

Seeing how tired she was, yet still trying to act strong, Jules chose not to call her bluff.

He reached for her foot, but as he began to remove her heels, she instinctively pulled back.

“I can do it myself.”

But his hand held her ankle firmly in place.

At his touch, heat surged through her, her skin tingling.

After slipping her feet into the flats, Jules rose and offered his hand.

“Let's go.”

Rachel nodded, awkwardly adjusting her dress before accepting his hand.

His fingers wrapped around hers, sending a current of warmth racing up her arm.

It was only the second tthey had held hands officially—the first had been at the altar.
