Just then, it seemed as if an idea suddenly struck Daly. "Rebecca, don't you know
Alex? He invited you to Audrey's party last time. How about..."
Alex rarely made appearances in social circles.
At 29, he was still single.
Rebecca was the first woman Alex had personally invited anywhere.
This indicated that Alex had a special interest in Rebecca.
Find Alex?
Rebecca frowned slightly. Seeking out Alex felt like walking straight into a trap.
However, Daly's suggestion sparked another thought in her mind.
Besides Alex, she could reach out to Daniel Robinson!
In her haste, she had completely forgotten about Daniel as a stepping stone.
Daniel saw her as a confidante and would surely lend a helping hand.
With this thought, Rebecca's lips curled into a small smile. "Dad, | can go see Mr. Robinson!"
"Mr. Robinson?" Daly asked, puzzled. "Which Mr. Robinson are you talking about?"
Rebecca continued, "The one from the Capital City."
Daly's eyes widened in disbelief. "Rebecca, are you talking about Mr. Christensen's associate, Mr. Robinson?"
"Yes, that's the one," Rebecca nodded.
Daly had heard long ago from Rebecca that she intended to marry Mr. Christensen.
As tpassed, Daly thought that was a lost cause.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtUnexpectedly!
Rebecca had managed to win Daniel's favor as well!
Daniel was Mr. Christensen's close friend. If Rebecca could win over Daniel, then winning Mr. Christensen
wouldn't be much of a challenge.
Soon enough, Daly thought, he might becMr. Christensen's father-in-law!
With this in mind, Daly's face broke into a wide grin.
Good!
Very good!
Absolutely wonderful!
Once Rebecca married Mr. Christensen, the Morris family wouldn't just have a stake in Cloudcrest; they'd have a
significant share of the Capital City as well!
Rebecca went upstairs to prepare herself. She changed out of her business suit, applied slight makeup, and
slipped into a flowing silk dress, ready to "coincidentally" run into Daniel.
Though Daniel appeared to be a playboy, he had a genuine interest in charity work.
He occasionally visited orphanages.
According to the schedule she had found, Daniel was set to visit the Angel Orphanage just outside the city that
afternoon.
Rebecca needed to get there early to set the scene.
Later in the afternoon.
As Daniel and his secretary entered the orphanage, they saw a striking young woman playing a gof tag with
the children.
She wore a long silk dress, which fluttered gracefully with her movements-a captivating sight.
For a moment, Daniel was so taken in that he stood there, almost in a trance.
Noticing Daniel's gaze, Rebecca's
eyes sparkled with satisfaction, and she tried to make her movements
and Smile look as natural as
possible.
If AY's founder were a man, he would have been just like Daniel, captivated by her charms!
No one else but her, willing to give everything for her.
Who would have guessed?
AY's founder turned out to be that wretched Anthea.
Thinking about the humiliation she had suffered, Rebecca's eyes briefly darkened with a flash of malice before
returning to normal.
"Rebecca," Daniel said, trying to steady his pounding heart as he approached her.
"Daniel?" Rebecca feigned surprise as she turned to him. "What brings you here?"
Daniel replied, "I'm here to see the children."
Rebecca smiled, "What a coincidence, I'm here to see them too."
The children chimed in immediately, "Sister Rebecca visits us often!"
In reality, this was Rebecca's first visit.
She had pre-arranged this with the children by offering them small rewards.
Rebecca had promised them that if they helped her play out today's scene, she would grant each of them a
wish!
Daniel looked at Rebecca in astonishment.
He always knew Rebecca was a kind-hearted girl.
If she were the calculating woman Sherman Christensen accused her of being, she wouldn't be visiting
orphanages to care for children, would she?
It's a pity!
Sherman was not only blind but also stubborn...
Perhaps all powerful people have their flaws.
Sherman's flaw was his inability to judge character.
Daniel added, "Rebecca, your kindness will surely be rewarded."
Rebecca gazed into the distance, a hint of wistfulness in her eyes, and said, "I don't seek any reward. just hope
these children can have a better life. Not every effort comes with a return."
