Chapter 327
After wrapping up the conversation, Clara left Palm Bay, feeling the need to drop by and see Ryan.
Her past was a blur, and it was only by chance that she found out about the alternative medicine expert from
Ryan. When she got to his villa, Ryan was passed out on the couch, surrounded by a sea of thick documents,
looking utterly wiped out.
Seeing his youthful face, Clara couldn't help but wonder if pushing him into this role was the right move. But
Johnny's biggest worry had always been this son, and Clara had promised she wouldn't take anything from the
Bradford family. Taking over as CEO after Johnny's death seemed out of the question.
Clara had to admit, ever since she woke up, she never quite felt like she belonged in this family, even though
she knew she was letting Johnny down.

She gently tapped Ryan's cheek. "Ryan, wake up."
He slowly opened his eyes, red and tired. "Clara."
Clara sat next to him. "You once toldthat before | was eight, | was really sickly, and you hardly saw me. Then
| went to see salternative medicine expert in Dad's hometown, and | got better, right?"
Ryan nodded, remembering the conversation.
"Do you remember where that expert is? | want to go myself and get sinsomnia medicine for Mr. Dylan."
Mr. Dylan?
Ryan thought he must've heard wrong. Was she talking about Dylan? Clara used to hate him.
Clara explained, "The Bradford family's land might have sissues, and Dylan knows what's up."
"Clara, without your memories, you probably don't know where Dad's hometown is, and you're not familiar with
that area. Letgo instead."
He sounded a bit down. "I've memorized all this stuff, but staying here in the Capital doesn't help much. Could
you lethandle this? It'll makefeel less useless."
At nineteen, being thrust into this position was terrifying for him. He was scared of dragging Clara down.
Clara looked at his tired face and patted his head. "Alright, I'll leave this to you. Just be back in three days,
okay?"
A spark of determination lit up in Ryan's eyes, and he smiled. "Yes, I'll get it done."
Seeing him grow up so fast made Clara proud. Right then, she got a call from Megan and filled her in.
To her surprise, Megan knew the place. "Your dad's hometown is Bridgetown, a really remote little village."
Clara didn't remember, but it seemed she'd mentioned it to Megan before. She smiled slightly. "Ryan's making
To ease Clara's mind, Ryan packed up that night and was ready to hit the road, only to run into Megan at the toll
station.
He'd met Megan before and knew she was close to Clara. Back then, his feelings about Clara were complicated.
He often asked her to cook, rarely talking about anything else, because Clara always seemed uninterested,
always busy. Over time, ordering food becone of the few chances they had to connect.
Megan waved, stopping the car. "Ryan, | talked to Clara. | know you're heading to Bridgetown. | need to go there
too. Can | join you?"
Ryan, a proud young man at heart, wasn't big on chatting with strangers. But since she was Clara's friend, he
didn't refuse and opened the car door. "Hop in."
Megan smiled, something unreadable glinting in her eyes, and got in the car.
