Chapter 1469:
“Sof my guys tried pulling something on Jessica a while back,” Jack said smoothly, making it sound like a
campfire horror story. “That man showed up and flattened all of them by himself. Amara’s staff is probably just
scared of trouble.”
The group blinked at each other. Amara was owned by serious money. Would they really be scared of one guy?
“If that’s all, I'm hanging up,” Jack cut in sharply, clearly bored of the whole thing. “Busy here.”
Before they could argue, the line went dead.
The girls exchanged uncomfortable looks. None of it made sense, but without a better explanation, they had to
settle for that. At least for now.
Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Melvin and Jessica sat at their table, enjoying the quiet elegance.
Jessica looked around at the refined interior, the warm golden light reflecting off the polished wood. Her eyes
sparkled. She had always loved places like this—grand, full of stories, and carrying a sense of timelessness.
“Think they're gonna start snooping around to figure out who you are?” Jessica teased, swirling her wine.
Melvin gave her a baffled glance. “Why would they care?”
“You walked in here like you owned the place. Of course they'll be curious,” Jessica said with a faint laugh. She

Melvin didn’t blink. “Let them dig. It’s not my problem.”
The meal was divine—better than she expected. Now she understood why the restaurant only served three
tables a night. Every dish that arrived was like a work of art—beautiful, fresh, and bursting with flavor. If she had
to wait half a year to eat here again, she wouldn't complain.
By the tthe clock crept past eight, they had finished dinner and stepped outside to retrieve their car, only to
spot the sfamiliar group lingering by the entrance.
Seeing them, Melvin lifted an eyebrow. Seriously? They had waited this whole time?
“How about we grab a drink somewhere else and catch up?” Nyla walked over, still wearing that sfake-
friendly smile. “It's been ages since we've talked properly.”
MORE UPDATES IN GAL cOM
“Not interested,” Jessica replied flatly, her eyes sharp.
“I don’t think you wantsharing those funny college stories with your boyfriend here, do you?” Nyla’s smile
sharpened. “A friend of mine went to school with you. Toldswild things.”
Jessica frowned slightly. “What stories are you talking about?”
“You really don't know, or are you just
pretending?” Nyla's voice droppech

At that, Jessica's expression shifted.
