Chapter 1800:
Peyton's face turned crimson, his frustration bubbling over like a pot left too long on the stove. “Damn it! If
anyone's oozing masculinity, it’s me—I'm practically dripping with it now!”
Elyse stifled a giggle and trailed after Clive, leaving Peyton to stew as he followed reluctantly behind.
Once they settled into the room, Clive took charge, calling out orders for the meal with the ease of a seasoned
host. He made a point to include several of Elyse’s favorite dishes, earning a soft smile from her. Then, passing
the menu to Peyton, he said casually, “Pick whatever your heart desires.”
Peyton, still smarting from earlier, brought his hand down on the table with a thud that echoed his irritation.
“You've crossed a line this time! After all these years, you still don’t know my go-to dishes? I'm your best friend,
for crying out loud!”
Clive merely shrugged, his expression as innocent as a lamb. “I know what you like. Just never thought to order
for you before.”
Peyton's voice rose like a kettle on the boil. “What about Elyse? You've ordered for her plenty of times, haven't
you?”
Clive flicked his gaze toward Elyse, who appeared to be wandering in a world of her own. “Mm,” he murmured,
the sound as casual as a passing breeze.
Peyton let out a roar that could've woken a coma patient. “We've been thick as thieves for years, and you still

Clive pressed his lips together, his tone tinged with playful uncertainty. “I suppose I might want to be.”
Peyton was so incensed he nearly flipped the table in a fit of pique, but he reined himself in at the last second.
“Fine! Since you're footing the bill, I'll eat my fill first—then I'll give you a proper earful.” Snatching the menu, he
began ticking off his favorite dishes with a vengeance. As he flipped through the pages, Peyton tossed out a
casual question,
“What does Jayden fancy eating?”
Clive parted his lips to respond, but Elyse, quick as a flash, cut in before he could utter a word. “He enjoys
whatever tickles my fancy.” Clive’s hand, which had been lifting a glass to his lips, froze midair like a deer caught
in headlights. He quickly recovered, sipping his drink as if nothing had happened, though the air around him
seemed to thicken with unspoken thoughts.

Once the orders were placed, Peyton leaned back in his chair, his gaze settling on Clive with a scrutinizing
squint. “Hey, have you been sneaking off for facials or ssuch nonsense? You're looking sharper than ever.”
Clive arched a brow, a smirk tugging at his lips. “What, were you blind before? I've always been a looker.”
Peyton rubbed his chin, pondering.
