Chapter 1377:
“I'm fine. But | really need to go...”
Just then, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Chelsey. “Hadley, your scenes have been rescheduled. You
won't be needed until the afternoon. I'll pick you up after lunch.”
After reading it, Hadley turned to Eric. “Was it you? Did you change my schedule?”
“Not in a hurry anymore, huh?” Eric gave a faint smile. He didn’t answer the question. “Can you sit down and eat
now?”
She didn’t object this time.
They walked into the dining room together.
There was no private chef assigned to this wing of the estate. It wasn’t needed. Since Eric moved in, he hadn't
eaten a single meal here. Whenever he returned to Olisvale Bay, he usually went to the main house to dine with
his mother, Milly.
So, breakfast this morning was prepared by Melba.

But now, with the fresh toast laid out in front of her, Hadley had no appetite.
She placed a hand on her stomach, rubbing it gently. A chill crept through her.
“What's wrong?” Eric frowned. “Are you feeling sick?”
“No.” She shook her head.
“Don’t like the food?”
“It’s fine. I'll eat this.” She reached for the bread and gestured. “Pass the jam, please.”
Eric didn’t move. Instead, he asked, “What do you want to eat?”
“Really... No need to fuss over this.” Hadley blinked. “Melba worked hard on this. I'll eat it.”
But Eric didn’t let up. “I'm asking you—what do you want?”
When she made a face, he smiled. “I won't trouble Melba. I'll make it myself—just tellwhat you wanna eat.”
“You?”
Startled, Hadley let out a tiny hiccup.
Was he serious?
They had known each other for ten years. She had never once seen him cook.
“You can cook?”
“You doubt me?” Eric narrowed his eyes at her playfully. “Just because | haven't shown off doesn’t mean | can’t
cook. So? What do you want?”
“Well...” Hadley blinked. “Soup.”
“In the morning?” He raised an eyebrow.
“You madesay it.” She pouted. “Forget it. I'll just have the toast.”
“Soup, huh?” Eric moved the basket
