Chapter 1672:
Just then, Corrine’s phone rang.
Seeing Nate's non the screen, the chill in her eyes softened, and a faint smile appeared. “Nate,” she said as
soon as the call connected. “Still busy?”
Nate’s deep voice cthrough, low and familiar.
“The family is discussing plans to head to Nelting for another wedding celebration,” Corrine responded calmly. “1
won't be coming back to your place tonight.”
There was a pause on Nate's end. “Alright,” he said after a moment. “Just don’t stay up too late. Get srest.”
“You too,” Corrine said.
With that, the call ended.
Nate stared at the screen, his brows faintly furrowed. Today was Kissing Day in this country. Many couples
considered the day special, almost like a second Valentine's Day. Had Corrine forgotten? Wasn't it said that
women were more attuned to dates like this? Yet, she hadn't shown the slightest reaction.
When Matias and Saul returned, visibly tired and tense, they immediately noticed the cold pressure hanging in
the air around Nate. The two exchanged a knowing glance.

“Mr. Hopkins, the rooftop’s been arranged per your instructions,” Matias cautiously reported, clearing his throat.
Nate lifted his gaze to meet Matias’. His eyes were cold, sharp, and unblinking. The intensity of his stare was
enough to make one forget how to breathe. A muscle twitched in Matias’ jaw, and his fists instinctively clenched
at his sides.
“Notify all departments,” Nate instructed. “The meeting starts in ten minutes.”

“Yes, Mr. Hopkins,” Matias responded with a nod.
Once outside, Matias exhaled a long, quiet breath.
“What the hell happened in there?” Saul whispered, clearly bewildered. Two hours ago, everything had seemed
calm, but now it felt like winter had rolled in.
Matias shook his head and sighed. “Only one person can cause that kind of emotional shift in the boss.”
“Miss Holland?” Saul guessed instantly.
“Look at you, learning fast,” Matias said, giving him a pleased pat on the shoulder.
“Get lost,” Saul grumbled, swatting Matias’ hand away. “You think they had a fight?”
“Whether they did or didn’t, we'll find out soon enough,” Matias said with a sly smile, adjusting his glasses.
Half an hour later, Corrine received a delivery.
