After my nap, | finished unpacking and putting away my things. There was no need to put off the inevitable. | would be staying here for a while.
I then decide to walk downstairs and grab a glass of water and grab my bag.
| rummaged through my bag looking for Jordan's card. I still wanted to work and it was more important now, that I save money for my child. After | found
the card, | placed it back in my bag and called Jordan. Hopefully he had or knew of a job opportunity for me.
“Hello, JT Constructs and Company. This is Jordan.”
“Hey Jordan, it's Claire. You know how I said |
wanted to get back into my work?” | say with a
little enthusiasm. Jordan was the kind of friend and help | needed right now.
“Hey Claire, | was hoping you'd call! | was worried about you. And I distinctively remember a comeback being mentioned.” His teasing madefeel a
little at ease.
“I'm doing fine. Would you maybe want to meetfor a coffee? There's a brew-new cafe nearby.”
“I always have tfor you, Claire. I'll see you there in ten?”

“Sounds good. Thank you Jordan.”
“Always a pleasure.”
With that, | hang up and go to put my glass of water in the kitchen, grab a snack or two for my bag as pregnancy
has madefamished and called a cab in my way out the door.
Ten minutes later, | arrive at the cafe where | can see Jordan has already grabbed a table for us near the front
window. He had even ordered us both coffees. | made my way into the cafe and met Jordan at the table.
“Hey Claire, | know you're pregnant so | got you a decaf. Two creamers and three spoons of sugar. | hope that’s
how you still like it.” He stood to greetand | instinctively leaned in for a friendly hug. It felt nice to have a
friend right now. | didn’t want to overbear Jasmine with my problems.
“You remembered?” He had gotten my coffee exactly how I liked it. Minus the decaf, which was a fine adjustment
being he remembered | was pregnant.
“I tried my best.” He shrugs as he pulls out my chair forto sit.
“Thanks Jordan.”
“Of course. So what's going on with you? | didn’t

think I'd hear from you after the hospital. Have you been okay?” He looked concerned.
“Yeah, | moved in with my best friend Jasmine for a bit but | just moved back in with Leo due to sunforeseen
circumstances but I'm okay.” | lied but I didn’t want Jordan to worry. He looked worried already.
“Oh. Well you know I'm here if you need me. | can’t fly but | can build an original JT Constructs hand that’s
close enough!” His laughed and | could help but join him. He always knew how to makefeel better.
“Build a baby nursery and I'm in.” | smile thinking about what I had said.
“Add in a masonry thand I'm there.” He smiled.
“We'll see. Anyways | wanted to see if you knew of any job opportunities for me. I still want to get back to work
and | need to find a place that'll take me.” | ask almost desperately.
“I have the perfect place for you. | need a new blueprint and architectural drafter for a few projects at my company. I'd love to have your skillset on my
side.” He smiled.
“Really?”
“Claire, you're one of the hardest workers | know
