“Are you stupid?” Jessica flicked his forehead.
Melvin blinked, startled. “What was that for?”
“Do | look like someone who'd do something that stupid?” Jessica found his dumbfounded look strangely cute.
She reached up again and gave his cheek a playful squeeze. “Even if | wanted to fool around, | wouldn't drag the
guy | like down with me.”
“What do you mean?” Melvin looked even more confused.
“Here. See for yourself.” Jessica pulled the marriage certificate from her bag and handed it to Melvin.
He glanced at it and frowned. “What's wrong with it?”
“Are you dense? Look at the signatures.” She tapped his forehead as if testing if there was anything inside. “And
you're supposed to be the leader of Anita International. Can't even spot something this basic.”
“I only need perception at work to do a good job,” Melvin muttered under his breath.

A rare smile pulled at the corner of his mouth. He couldn’t help himself. Jessica hardly ever saw that look on him.
