Chapter 1522
She halted mid-step, initially wanting to ignore the racket. But it was clear these people weren't planning to quiet
down anytsoon.
Every word they uttered seemed to have her nattached to it. If she barged in now, it would only make
things worse, disrupting whatever scene they were
creating.
With a soft chuckle, Fiona decided to pop on her headphones and lean against the doorframe, diving into a game
on her phone.
As the gmusic filled her ears, the noise inside the dorm started to fade, though a few nasty comments still
managed to creep through.
"Staying out all night is one thing, but Fiona is just shameless. Flirting with a guy right in front of the hospital-did
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtyou catch that story? She kicked someone away like a total delinquent."
"Ugh, stop, you're makingsick. How does someone like that even have the nerve to show her face around
here?"
"If I were her, I'd be too embarrassed to cback to school."
Fiona cranked up the volume, letting them rant all they wanted.
Another girl wandered out from a nearby dorm, having heard all the commotion. She assumed Fiona had been
kicked out and called out a couple of times, but got no reply.
Hearing the disdain and insults thrown Fiona's way, she smirked, intentionally walked over, and bumped into
Fiona hard.
If Fiona hadn't been leaning against the wall, she might've been sent crashing into the window corner.
"Oh, there's actually someone here? Didn't realize you were blocking the path!" The girl sneered, her voice thick
with sarcasm. "What? Got kicked out, did you?"
The sound blasting from Fiona's headphones was loud enough to make her pupils dilate. Seeing the cold look on
the girl's face, she could tell she was just like the rest of them in the dorm-up to no good.
From the way her lips moved, it was clear she was cursing her out.
Given the situation, there was no point in engaging.
The girl, noticing Fiona's lack of response, glanced at her phone screen, noticing Fiona's focus on a cartoon
character. A gunshot from the gsignaled the enemy's defeat.
But Fiona didn't give her any attention, as if the girl's taunts had hit a wall of indifference. With a slight huff, the
girl reached for the dorm door handle, calling out to the others inside.
"Someone's eavesdropping out here."
At that, the noise inside the dorm stopped abruptly, and three people exchanged puzzled looks, not realizing
they'd been overheard.
"Fiona's outside eavesdropping, and she's got her phone too. Who knows what she might have recorded?"
The implication was clear-Fiona was up to something, and they needed to kick her out.
Just as Fiona's sniper rifle took
down the last enemy in the game,
the word "Victory" flashed across the
screen. She tucked away her
headphones and slipped her phone back into her pocket.
"Hand over the phone!"
The girl who'd been leading the insults reached out, trying to snatch the phone
from Fiona, only to be shoved aside.
