Chapter 773
Margot?
In a world brimming with 7 billion souls, bumping into someone who shares a similar nwith you isn't out of
the ordinary.
But why does the mere mention of that nsend a pang through Marguerite's heart? It was baffling, to say the
least. There was something about Silas and his daughter that stirred something deep within her, making her
insatiably curious about both Margot and Silas.
Trying to shake off the odd feeling, she continued her inquiry, "So, if everyone seems to have a problem with
Margot, what about you?"
Without missing a beat, Hayes firmly shook his head, "I don't dislike her."

"Why's that?" Marguerite prodded for a reason, but Hayes seemed taken aback by his own certainty.
He wasn't fond of kids who were slow on the uptake, and Margot was all over the place - by all accounts, he
should've found her annoying.
So why did he answer so confidently? Hayes pondered hard but couldn't cup with a reason, his brows
knitting together in a frown, "Mom, I... | don't know why. | just... don't dislike her."
"Even after she bit your brother's butt, you don't dislike her?" Marguerite couldn't help but ask, meeting Hayes's
earnest gaze with a mix of curiosity and amusement.
Hayes's lips pursed, and he swallowed hard, "Well... it's not entirely her fault..."
Marguerite raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Do tell."
"It's because... | kept staring at her today, and | guess it got to her... She originally wanted to bite me, but
couldn't bring herself to do it, so... she bit Manley instead."
As Hayes explained, he sneakily glanced at Marguerite's expression, worried she might be upset.
To his surprise, Marguerite found herself amused rather than annoyed. She remembered how Hayes couldn't take
his eyes off Margot earlier in the office. It was almost endearing how captivated he was.
Without correcting Hayes, she smiled softly, her mood lightening, "So, Margot didn't want to bite you and ended
up biting Manley instead. It seems my son is quite the charmer, loved by everyone."
Hayes's innocent eyes blinked, his cheeks flushing with a shy blush, clearly embarrassed by the comment.
"So, why were you staring at that little girl all day?" Marguerite asked gently, her curiosity piqued.
Hayes fell silent, unsure if he should share his thoughts with his mom.
He had been fixated on Margot because he had recently messaged an online friend, asking them to meet him at
Cresthaven Sunshine Kindergarten, and coincidentally, a new girl transferred in the very next day.
It was too much of a coincidence! He suspected Margot might be that online friend.
But at the stime, he also suspected the mysterious friend could be Teresa.
Yet, Margot and Teresa looked nothing alike, with Margot being a bit clueless and plump.
What was going on?
This conundrum nearly had Hayes's head spinning, unable to draw any
conclusions, which was why he couldn't stop watching her.
But then again...
If it was a problem he couldn't solve on his own, why not share it with his mom, hoping she could shed some
light?
His prolonged silence must've tipped Marguerite off to something unusual, as she gently prodded, "Hayes, is this
a tough question for you? Why were you watching her all day?"
